PEARL HARBOR 1961 - 7 DECEMBER, 2022

My first trip to pearl harbor was 20 years after...
Ticonderoga arrived at Ford Island carrier quay after passing the Arizona (BB-39) Memorial on our way in... rendering honors is a somber Naval event for every US Navy ship leaving/arriving Pearl.

All naval ships present the crew manning the rail at attention, here 3,000 sailors are rendering a prolonged hand salute while the boatswain mate of the deck pipes a prolonged version of attention to quarters, then silence, as the ship passes along side the Memorial.

The December ceremony was a tear jerker back when the few remaining 1941 sailors were alive to attend, when we departed Pearl, it was amidst literally thousands of floating flowers, wreaths, prayer floats, and a long day of name reading, it would next take the wall to recreate such emotion among veterans.

Growing up in a Great Lakes city with Pearl Harbor Day parades, I was taken aback at those elsewhere in the county who had never even heard of the day that sunk or damaged 21 U.S. warships — including the USS Arizona and USS Oklahoma — destroyed or damaged 347 aircraft, and killed 2,403 Americans.  I now can write (and do)...  about the US collusion that created December 7th, but today it is not for mention.

In typical cancel culture support, and out of respect for Japan, the United States government and US Navy "both" simply then moved on... on 23 DECEMBER, 2019 (78 YEARS LATER)

"Today is a proud day for Arizona,” said Governor Ducey. “It’s been nearly 80 years since the attacks on Pearl Harbor, which resulted in the sinking of the USS Arizona and deaths of 1,177 of her crew members, now, a new ship will receive the name USS Arizona, a Virginia-class fast-attack submarine, the USS Arizona (SSN-803)".

SO LETS MOVE ON.... what are all the flags for Daddy ?
