The worst pandemic since the Great Spanish Flu of 1918, China’s COVID has been devastating, but, a natural solar or man-made electromagnetic threat can be just as lethal to machines as China’s COVID was to humans. Auroras, and their big sister CME’s are natural, but EMP is man-made (like weaponized vaccines).

Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis are visual dynamic display patterns of brilliant lights that appear as curtains, rays, spirals, or dynamic flickers covering the entire sky, beautiful at night, they actually go on 24 hours a day.

These are low level magnetics at work, the details of these phenomena are not fully understood, however, it is clear that the prime source of auroral particles is the solar wind feeding our magnetosphere, energized electron particals emitted from sunspots slam into Earth's upper atmosphere at speeds of up to 45 million mph but our planet's magnetic field protects us from the invasion by guiding the particles toward the North and South poles.

After being guided toward the poles, every type of atom or molecule ,causes an ethereal glow whether it's hydrogen or a molecule like carbon dioxide, absorbs and radiates its own unique set of colors, which then produces the atmospheric lights, the dominant colors are red, a hue produced by the nitrogen molecules, and green, which is produced by oxygen molecules

In 1989, a solar storm caused a 12-hour blackout across the entire Canadian province of Quebec and the U.S. dealt with a host of energy blackouts, if you have never lived around aurora, there is also an Aurora noise, a crackling noise, that is caused when charged particles discharge on a cold night from the Sun heating the inversion layer, creating the scary “high volt transmission tower in a rainstorm”-like crackle/hiss noise.

Really huge sunspot activity can cause “High level” electro-magnetic activity…

Back on September 2, 1859, British astronomer Richard Carrington made a remarkable discovery – a large visible white flare on the surface of the sun. This was the first known Coronal Mass Ejection (CME)... it caused the mesmerizing Polar Lights aurora Borealis to be visible down as far as Cuba and Hawaii.

At the time, the most advanced technology was the telegraph, it wreaked havoc all across the United States and Europe, and malfunctions caused communication loss and wildfires. It was a remarkable event that came about 18 years before the telephone, and 23 years before the first powerplant ever generated electricity

The last mega-CME that occurred was in 2012, was so powerful that it was visible as a bright flash in the sky, also detected by several spacecraft, including NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory and the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, that CME was estimated to be about 10 times larger than any other CME ever recorded by modern equipment and is thought to be comparable to the 1859 Carrington event.

Because Sunspots are highly directional and depend on their location on the sun, the 2012 CME did not destroyed satellites or damage very much electrical equipment because the 2012 CME simply was pointing down and away from us making the electromagnetic beam miss Earth almost completely, so we were lucky.

The 2012 CME was an impressive event, and it serves as a reminder of the power of the sun, CMEs can cause significant disruption to our technology, and modern electrical devices are not designed to survive billions of tons of solar expulsions explosively pointed straight at the earth.

A CME is a colossal eruption of solar material, and creates a magnetic field that is thrown off the sun’s atmosphere, and into ours. It is composed of billions of tons of plasma and magnetic fields that hurtle at speeds of up to several million miles per hour, on arrival CMEs clash with the Earth’s magnetic field, they can cause geomagnetic storms, that can destroy power grids, satellite communications, ship navigation systems, and cell phone, wifi, radio transmission, even micro-processors in our cars, hospitals, homes, and business cash systems..

Hours or days of disrupted communications and grid operations, from a massive geomagnetic storm would create havoc on a global scale… estimates of from $2 trillion to $20 trillion in damages, lives lost, and communication, lights, air conditioning, hospital equipment, refrigeration, and industrial production all stopping dead.

End result… today we are much more vulnerable than Carrington‘s world was in 1859 and only slightly more prepared than we were in 2012. How much time would we have to prepare?

The CME discharge expands as it moves through space, and is slower than the 670,616,629 mph speed of light, at only 650,000 MPH . This gives us here on Earth about 15 hours maximum time to react and prepare. Ships at sea still carry mechanical sextants and ships officers are trained in celestial navigation, just in case antennas, electronics, computers, radio/navigation equipment, or the Inmarsat satellites are crippled.

The US Coast Guard HF distress frequencies and the Ham Radio Maritime Mobile Radio network (on 14.300.00 MHz) may survive and still operate, but a CME would not target just one computer, a large CME focused at Earth could devastate an untold number of satellites, computers, and devices as well as electrical and internet distribution networks around the world.

Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) E-Bomb attacks like we used on Baghdad (2003) are the same principle as CME/Aurora, only man-made …a brief burst of electromagnetic pulsing energy resulting in rapidly changing electric fields and magnetic fields may couple with electrical/electronic systems to produce damaging current and voltage surges, a nuclear detonation, lightening storms, large discharges from a capacitor, or a pulsing electro-magnetic generator all target and destroy lighting, appliances, electronic control systems, computers, blind radar, silence radios, cancel video transmissions, trigger crippling power outages, kill wifi, disable all the electronic ignitions in vehicles and aircraft, and the engine controls critical to the operation of ground vehicles, aircraft, and launch systems .not to mention the lives lost during prolonged spells without communication, lights, air conditioning, hospital equipment, refrigeration, and industrial production.

Scientists, Astronomers, and other experts are well aware of these dangers, and of the enormity of the potential consequences, this is clearly one of those risks (much like a pandemic) for which no one will ever be adequately prepared, lest you be called a “doomsdayer”, we just have to hope that the next massive “natural” coronal ejection event will not equal or surpass the 1859 Carrington Event.

During the past few weeks the north slopes in Russia are seeing abnormal CME activity (like the lead photo at top), the Russian Space Agency just joined with NASA and the ESA to begin monitoring an expected major CME event that is being expected (soon), the websky and space.com websites monitor all of this 24 hours a day based on data from those three space agencies, like following NOAA weather, Tide charts, Tsunami.gov, and other aids, you may want to stay abreast of the events.

UPDATE 11 JANUARY

Chaos: All U.S. Commercial Flights Grounded by FAA ‘System Failure’

More than 21,000 flights were scheduled to take off in the U.S. today, mostly domestic trips, and about 1,840 international flights expected to fly to the U.S., all have been cancelled. The White House announced Wednesday that President Biden has been briefed on the massive FAA outage, though asserting that there’s no evidence it was caused by any cyberattack. The FAA said it is still working to fully restore the Notice to Air Missions system following an outage.

MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/. The restrictions for 11 airports in central and southern Russia remain in place, the Russian Transportation Ministry has said.

"Currently, restrictions continue to remain in place for 11 airports in the southern and central parts of Russia. Given that the information on the extension of restrictions in the current conditions is of an operational nature, it is sent to airports and airlines in the prescribed manner for use in work.
