20 DECEMBER, 2019 - WHY WE "LIVE" ON A BOAT

Sun's up...  0730, high tide, and time for a visual...  rock and roll overnight, wind chart shows a  lot of high 30's and low 40's SSW gusts, just had a looong sustained 46 er, we have had virtually NO rain! it is and has been 60degrees since 2100 last night.

So...fea sits in about 30 foot of water, our rhythm of movement is like being on an ocean of witch hat wave action with a long swell interval, fairly rapid yaw and bounce, nothing more than 5 or so degrees... but never-ending.  The wind hammers roll us to dock line slamming, we are being blown "away" from the dock, not against it.

Being isolated at the unobstructed pier end lets the wind and tidal surges have its way with us, like being thrown into the briar patch it is. (and why we live on a boat)

I always remind people, after their day is done, commercial fisher/crab men, and shipyard-dock workers all go home to a landlubber house at night...

UPDATE:  1130 ABSOLUTE CALM, 60 DEGREE , NO WIND, NO RAIN, CLEARING FOR THE LAST 2 HOURS .... But here is the 'expert" NOAA forecast just posted
