12 DECEMBER, 2019 - DUNGENESS SEASON DELAYED---AGAIN !

Due to low meat recovery rates in half of Oregon’s harvest areas, as well as areas in both California and Washington, the opening of the ocean commercial Dungeness crab fishery is delayed at least through Dec 30th. The third round of testing is scheduled to begin the week of Dec. 15th and will include crab quality testing in the areas that did not meet recovery criteria and domoic acid testing in all areas south of Heceta Head. We plan to meet with ODCAC advisors and Tri-State managers at the end of the week of 12/15, to discuss round 3 results and season-opening structure
